Shoolini University National Law Fest’22 (Solan) (Prizes worth Rs. 80k) [Nov 30 to Dec 2]: Register by Nov 10

Centre for Clinical legal education, Faculty of Legal Sciences, Shoolini University is inviting registrations for the various competitions to be held as a part of the National Law Fest at its campus in Solan.

About Centre for Clinical Legal Education

Clinal legal education is essential for students to develop professional skills and practical application of the law. CCLE has been established with a view to promoting diverse activities where professional abilities are developed. 

About the National Law Fest

The First ever Offline National Law fest organized by CCLE, Shoolini University, is a combination of four major events including a Moot Court competition, Crime Scene Investigation Competition, Legislative Drafting/Review Competition, and Client Counseling Competition with a view to creating and promoting the competitive spirit and knowledge among the students.

  • Date of Event: November 30 to December 2, 2022

Moot Court Competition

  • Eligibility:
    • More than One team from each Law College/Institute can participate
    • Each team would have two participants, each being mooters.
    • Members must be students pursuing a 5-year or 3-year law course.
  • Registration and Fees:
    • Registration fee of Rs. 4,500/- per team. The team must Register on or before November 10, 2022. Join the WhatsApp group after filling google form.
  • Awards:
    • Winning team- Rs. 20,000/- and Three(3) one-year academic subscriptions to SCC online web edition worth Rs. 81,000/-
    • Runners Up- Rs.10,000/- and Three(3) one-year academic subscriptions to EBC learning worth Rs.43,500/-
    • Best speaker- Rs. 5,000/- 
    • Best Memorial- Rs. 5,000/-

Crime Scene Investigation Competition

The students are required to identify, appreciate and analyze the crime scene and make a final report.

  • Competition Format: There shall be only one round and the two highest teams with a score will be selected as the winner and runner-up.
  • Registration and fees: The registration fee shall be Rs. 3000/- per team. After filling in the google form, join the WhatsApp Group.
  • Awards:
    • Winner team: Cash Prize of Rs. 10,000/-
    • Runner up: Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-

Legislative Drafting/Review Competition

Students are provided a platform where they can polish their skills in the interpretation and implementation of law and nurtures their ability to identify the current challenges in law.

  • Problem: Presuming that there is no law or law is deficient in a particular area, what enactment or amendment will you propose?
  • Eligibility: Open to all law students Pursuing LLB (3-year or 5-year) or LLM from a recognized university.
  • Registration and Fee: The registration fee shall be Rs. 1500/- per entry. After filling in the google form, join the WhatsApp Group.
  • Awards:
    • Winner- Rs. 10,000/-
  • How to submit?: The participants must send a soft copy of the Legislative bill to ccle.shooliniuniversity@gmail.com latest by 20th November 2022.

Client Counselling Competition

The Competition simulates a law office consultation in which two law students, acting as lawyers, are presented with client matters.

  • Eligibility: Open to all law students Pursuing LLB (3 year or 5 year) from a recognized university.
  • Rules: The students are given a brief written memorandum that identifies the general nature of the subject matter of the client’s problem before the interviews are held.
  • Rounds: Consists of a preliminary round based on the theme of Family Law and a final round based on Criminal Law.
  • Registration and fees: The registration fee shall be Rs. 3000/- per team. After filling in the google form, join the WhatsApp Group. The last date for registration is November 10, 2022.
  • Awards:
    • Winner – Best team certificate and cash prize Rs. 10,000/-
    • Runner Up- Certificate of excellence and Cash prize Rs. 5,000/- 
  • Rules and Guidelines:
    • The Participants shall adhere to the given dress code during the commencement of the event.
    • The language for the competition will be strictly English
    • For the submission of the memorial and legislative draft attached rules must be kept in mind.
    • There is no restriction on the number of entries from any college or university. 
    • All competitions except Moot are open to individuals as well as a team of two.  
    • Additional Rules mentioned in the brochure must be followed.
