There are 34 Rajya Sainik Boards and 403 Zila Sainik Boards functioning across the country and the details are given below:-

Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) which is an attached office of Ministry of Defence runs various welfare schemes for ex-servicemen with the help of Rajya Sainik Boards. To avail the benefits of welfare schemes of KSB, the beneficiaries apply online on the website of KSB. The applications are scrutinized and verified by respective Rajya Sainik Boards/Zila Sainik Board. After approval, KSB credits the amount directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The details of State wise funds spent during last three years is given below.

The Rajya Sainik Boards and Zila Sainik Boards function under the administrative control of State Government.  Performance of the Rajya Sainik Boards and Zila Sainik Boards is reviewed by concerned State Governments.
