Women Owned MSMEs

The revised definition of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) was adopted on 01.07.2020. Since then, a total of 2,20,73,675 women-owned MSMEs have registered on Udyam Registration Portal (URP) and Udyam Assist Platform (UAP), upto 30.11.2024 in the country. State/UT-wise percentage of women-owned MSMEs registered and their numbers, particularly in the State of Gujarat and Rajasthan, are given at Annexure.

A total number of 7,803 women-owned MSMEs have registered on URP and UAP, till 30.11.2024 in Tonk and Sawai Madhopur Districts, which is 13% of the total MSMEs registered in these districts of Rajasthan.

A total number of 11,942 women-owned MSMEs have registered on URP and UAP, till 30.11.2024 in Valsad District, which is 18.24% of total MSMEs registered in Valsad district of Gujarat.

The details of women owned MSMEs registered on URP, including UAP, till 30.11.2024  for the country and the States of Gujarat and Rajasthan, are as follows:

The Government has taken a number of initiatives to increase the participation of women in MSMEs in the country, including in National Capital Territory of Delhi, States of Gujarat and Rajasthan. They are as given below:

    1. Special drives for registration of women-owned MSMEs.
    1. To benefit women entrepreneurs, the Public Procurement Policy was amended in 2018 mandating Central Ministries/Departments/Undertaking to procure at least 3% of their annual procurement from women entrepreneurs.
    1. To support Women Entrepreneurs under Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), 10% concession is given in annual Guarantee fees; 90% Guarantee coverage is given to women-owned MSEs, as against the 75% for other entrepreneurs.
