Women at the core of Prime Minister’s Priorities, says Union Minister

“The concept of development under the present Government is to ensure that it reaches the farthest, the most vulnerable sections of the population,” said Union Minister for Urban and Housing Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Hardeep Singh Puri. He was interacting with the media at the Press Conference organised at the Press Club in Palakkad. 

 

Talking about the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) the Minister said that earlier, citizens had to approach various offices to get the benefits due to them. But  VBSY on the other hand, directly benefitted citizens and was ensuring that the fruits of the development reached everyone.

 

On the matter of ensuring adequate supply of fuel, the Minister said that the country would buy fuel from whomsoever as was necessary, the primary concerns being availability, affordability and sustainability.

 

Earlier, the Union Minister inaugurated the VBSY programme orgainsed at Mankara Grama Panchayat in Palakkad district. He said that the Prime Minister had formulated and implemented various schemes giving priority to women. Now he was making efforts to bring them to leadership positions. The passing of the law introducing 33% reservation for women was historic. The Prime Minister’s religion comprised of women, youngsters, the poor and the farmers.

 

The government was implementing schemes that would benefit even the poorest of the poor in the country. The Prime Minister’s aim was to make Bharat a developed country. The Minister said that VBSY which was marching ahead to achieve the development goal, had already interacted with 10 crore people.

 

The Minister also interacted with the beneficiaries of various central government schemes at the function. The Panch Pran Pledge to make India a developed country by 2047, was taken in the presence of the Minister. The Minister felicitated Mankara panchayat for 100% implementation of the social security schemes and also distributed free gas connections under the Ujjwala Yojana.
