J U D G M E N T (oral)

1. The matter is taken up today as 17.06.2024 was declared holiday on account of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid).
2. In terms of last order dated 05.06.2024, State has submitted the Status Report dated 17.06.2024. The same is taken on record.
3. The age of girl in question i.e. Ms. Pragati Dubey is more than 18 years and her date of birth has been verified as 20.01.2006 as per the school record.
4. Her father is present in Court who, rather, states that he has severed his ties and relationship with his daughter.
5. During the course of hearing, we interacted with the girl who is present in Court. She has expressed her willingness to go with the petitioner with whom she wants to marry.
6. Since, the girl in question has already attained the age of discretion, she is at liberty to go wherever she wants.
7. It is, however, made clear that the parents/relatives of the girl in question shall not create any hindrance in their lives. It is also ordered that the petitioner would be at liberty to contact the SHO of nearest police station, in case they receive any threat or apprehend any danger from the relatives of the girl. The SHO concerned would immediately take appropriate action under intimation to this Court.
8. SHO, PS Ambedkar Nagar shall also ensure that wherever so required, adequate steps are taken to ensure their safety and security.
9. With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
