JUDGMENT

SANJEEV SACHDEVA, J. (ORAL)

1. Petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to dispose of the Post Confirmation Petition filed by the petitioner on 23.10.2023 under Section 117 (2) of the Border Security Force Act, 1968.
2. Learned counsel for petitioner submits that petitioner has already undergone nearly nine months of incarceration as against the sentence of one year.
3. Issue notice. Notice is accepted by learned counsel appearing for the respondents.
4. Learned counsel for respondents submits that Post Confirmation Petition is pending consideration before the Competent Authority and assures that the same shall be disposed of within a period of two weeks from today.
5. In view of the above, petition is disposed of, directing the Competent Authority to decide the Post Confirmation Petition filed by the petitioner within a period of two weeks from today. The Competent Authority shall also consider the request of the petitioner for suspension of sentence in accordance with law.
6. Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
7. It would be open to the petitioner to avail of such other additional remedy as may be available in law.
