National-level Cooperative University

    With the approval of Union Cabinet, Government has set up three national level multi-state cooperative societies;

 

a) National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL),

b) National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL),

c) Bharatiya Beej Sahkari Samiti Limited (BBSSL).

 

    These Societies have been registered under MSCS Act, 2002.  The cooperative societies of all levels, who are interested in activities specified for each of above societies, including those registered under Cooperative Act of Himachal Pradesh are eligible to become member.     To deepen the cooperative movement at grassroot level Ministry of Cooperation has taken major initiatives. The details of major initiatives are attached as Annexure.

Progress on major initiatives taken by Ministry of Cooperation

 

    Ministry of Cooperation, since its inception on 6th July, 2021, has undertaken several initiatives to realize the vision of “Sahakar-se-Samriddhi” and to strengthen & deepen the cooperative movement from Primary to Apex level Cooperatives in the country.       This was stated by the Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha. 

  1. National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL): The NCEL is promoted by Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO), National Agricultural Cooperative, Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED), Gujarat   Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (GCMMF) and National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC). The NCEL has been set up to undertake direct export of goods and services of cooperatives and related entities and to take up other promotion activities. The NCEL will help in increasing exports of goods & services produced in the cooperative sector. So far 5,438 cooperatives including 89 cooperatives from Himachal Pradesh have become members of NCEL.
