Mithila Dugdh Utpadak Sahkari Sangh Ltd., Samastipur Visits VAMNICOM, Pune for One-Day Capacity Building Programme

A delegation comprising 12 Board of Directors from three Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) affiliated with Mithila Dugdh Utpadak Sahkari Sangh Ltd., Samastipur, Bihar, participated in a focused one-day training programme organized at the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM), Pune, under the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India.

The training was aimed at empowering dairy cooperative leaders with knowledge of the latest cooperative sector reforms, sustainability practices, and institutional innovations being undertaken at the national level to strengthen India’s dairy economy.

During the session, Dr. Dhananjay Gaikwad and Dr. Mahesh Kadam, expert faculty from VAMNICOM, provided valuable insights on key themes including:

The delegation from PACS located in Harpur Alloth, Warisnagar, and Patori blocks of Samastipur district engaged in interactive sessions on cooperative governance, sustainable business models, and community-based processing units. A special visit to the VAMNICOM Incubation Centre exposed them to emerging dairy and agri-tech startups leveraging digital tools and decentralized processing to increase farmer value realization.

The initiative aligns with the Ministry of Cooperation’s vision to transform cooperative institutions into engines of rural prosperity, particularly through livestock-based enterprise models.

Prof. Shantanu Ghosh, Registrar, VAMNICOM, applauded the proactive approach of Mithila Dugdh Utpadak Sahkari Sangh and emphasized capacity-building for eastern India’s dairy cooperative ecosystem. He assured VAMNICOM’s continued support in policy advocacy, training, and cooperative enterprise incubation.

This programme is a step toward enhancing grassroots leadership in the dairy sector and promoting an inclusive cooperative model for climate-smart agriculture, waste-to-wealth generation, and rural entrepreneurship.
