Greenfield Corridors under Bharatmala Pariyojana
Twenty-five Greenfield high-speed corridors have been envisaged for development under Bharatmala Pariyojana. The State-wise details of such Greenfield High-Speed access-controlled corridor are enclosed at Annexure-I.
Government of India in October 2017 approved the Phase I of Bharatmala Pariyojana for development of 34,800 km of National Highway corridors. Under the said Pariyojana, projects are being executed under the different categories i.e. Economic Corridors Development, Inter-corridor and Feeder Routes Development, National Corridors Efficiency Improvement, Border and International Connectivity Roads, Coastal and Port Connectivity Roads and Expressways. Bharatmala Pariyojana is expected to substantially improve the logistics efficiency and connectivity in the country. Development of high speed corridors is expected to reduce the travel time by 40-50% in selected economic nodes. State wise summary of Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I is enclosed at Annexure-II.
