DEVELOPMENT OF WATERWAYS IN INDIA

The Details of sanctioned National Waterway Projects during last five years in various states including Andhra Pradesh with approved outlay are at Annexure-1.The details regarding the number of currently functioning waterways with recorded cargo movement during the period 2019-20 till 2023-24 in million tons, year-wise and Waterway- wise, including those present in Andhra Pradesh are given in Annexure-2. NW-4 passes through Bapatla.

Presently, focus of the Government is on the development of National Waterways declared under National Waterways Act, 2016.
