Widespread Participation in Special Campaign 5.0: 4.16 Lakh Office Spaces Covered and ₹307.17 Crore Revenue Earned through Scrap Disposal
Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), chaired the 8th meeting of Nodal Officers today to review the progress of Special Campaign 5.0 being implemented across Central Ministries and Departments.
The meeting witnessed participation from over 200 senior officers representing 84 Ministries and Departments, who deliberated on the campaign’s achievements and ongoing initiatives under the themes of Swachhata, office space management, and efficient disposal of public grievances.
Presenting the progress achieved till 23rd October 2025 (09:00 hrs), Shri Srinivas informed that 4.16 lakh office spaces have been covered under the Swachhata campaign, reflecting the scale and outreach of the initiative. He added that 4.62 lakh public grievances have been disposed of, significantly improving citizen-centric service delivery.
The Secretary noted that the campaign has resulted in revenue generation of ₹307.17 crore through scrap disposal, while 128.06 lakh sq. ft. of office space has been freed for productive use—demonstrating the efficiency gains from the exercise.
Highlighting the digital and communication outreach, Shri Srinivas informed that the campaign has gained strong traction on social media, with over 13,000 tweets by Ministries and Departments under the hashtag #SpecialCampaign5, along with the release of 200+ infographics and 197 PIB statements.
The Secretary appreciated the efforts of all Ministries and Departments in ensuring active participation, noting that Special Campaign 5.0 has evolved into a nationwide movement promoting cleanliness, efficiency, and transparency in governance.
