Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) – 2025 Campaign: Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh holds a special interaction with Safai Mitras

Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh holds a special interaction programme with all Safai Mitras of the Ministry. The Union Minister inquired about their daily routine, working environment and noted the challenges faced by them in their line of duty. He also lauded their invaluable contribution in ensuring cleanliness and hygiene, underscoring their crucial role in society.

As a token of appreciation, each Safai Mitra was presented with a kit containing a T-shirt, mask, sanitizer, and other essential items. Food packets were also distributed during the programme. The event was held in a very motivating atmosphere, reflecting the Ministry’s continued commitment towards promoting cleanliness, upholding the dignity of labour, and ensuring the welfare of Safai Mitras.

Activities undertaken by other organization of under MoT

Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd (CCIC) Distributed Masks and sanitizers to Safai Mitra at its headquarter.

The Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI) has conducted “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” at Corporations across India where 100+ Saplings have been planted.

National Jute Board (NJB) has conducted Cleaning Drive at Identified CTU at New Town, Kolkata.

The Office of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms has conducted Sanitization across all office premises.

National Handloom Development Corporation Ltd. (NHDC)- At the headquarter of the corporation, an awareness campaign was organized for Safai Mitras. In the campaign they were made aware about the schemes being implemented by the ‘National Safai Karamchari Finance and Development Corporation’ under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Large scale activities are also being continuously organized in regional offices of the corporation.

The Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) conducted an awareness session on single-use plastic and the reduction of plastic pollution.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has organized Observance of Cyber hygiene at its various campuses.
