India Post and World Trade Centre, Mumbai Sign Historic MoU to empower MSMEs and Entrepreneurs

India Post and the World Trade Centre (WTC), Mumbai today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance global market access for Indian businesses, with special focus on MSMEs and entrepreneurs.

This strategic collaboration combines India Post’s extensive postal network with WTC Mumbai’s global trade expertise to boost exports, facilitate cross-border partnerships, and empower Indian enterprises to expand internationally.

The Department of Posts, with its wide network, provides domestic and international mail services across the country. Through its international facilities, the Department offers exporters support in customs and export compliance, including mandatory documentation such as invoices and export declarations.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Postmaster General, Navi Mumbai Region, Ms. Suchita Joshi; Assistant Postmaster General (Business Development), Maharashtra Circle, Dr. Sudhir Jakhere and Chairman, WTC Mumbai, Dr. Vijay Kalantri.

On the occasion, Assistant Postmaster General (Business Development), Maharashtra Circle, Dr. Sudhir Jakhere highlighted India Post’s initiatives including the International Business Centre in Mumbai, National Logistics Organization, and Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras, aimed at strengthening logistics and export facilitation. With operations spanning over 70 countries and connectivity to even the remotest parts of Maharashtra, India Post is emerging as a key driver of trade, exports and inclusive growth.

Chairman, WTC Mumbai, Dr. Vijay Kalantri expressed happiness over the partnership and underlined that WTC Mumbai will actively support and create awareness among the trade and industry fraternity about India Post’s connectivity and services. He further emphasized that both organizations will jointly conduct programmes showcasing the vital role of India Post in logistics and trade facilitation.

The ceremony was also attended by Vice Chairman, WTC Mumbai, Captain Somesh Batra; Senior Director, AIAI, Ms. Sangeeta Jain; Director, WTC Mumbai, Ms. Priya Pansare; and Export Promotion Team Member, Mr. Vipul Mandlesha.

The collaboration is expected to create new global opportunities for Indian businesses and contribute towards the vision of making India a hub for international trade and entrepreneurship. It will enable exporters, particularly SMEs, to benefit from DoP’s export facilitation services and WTC Mumbai’s training and networking ecosystem, thereby strengthening India’s participation in global trade.
