  MOUs under NMBA

Government has so far entered into MoUs with Six Spiritual/Social Service organizations to spread the message of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and conduct sensitization programs, mass awareness activities etc.

The six spiritual organisations with whom the MoUs are signed as follows-

The main objectives of the MoU are as under:

Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) was launched on 15^th August 2020 by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and is being implemented in all the districts across the country. Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan ensures reach out to the masses and spread awareness about substance use with focus on higher educational Institutions, university campuses & schools, reaching out & identifying dependent population, focus on counselling & treatment facilities in hospitals & rehabilitation centres and Capacity building programmes for service providers.

The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan campaign runs on a voluntary basis, with public participation and use of technology. Large number of women, students, educational institutions, and civil society organizations are participating in NMBA.

 

Achievements of NMBA

 

Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment is the nodal Ministry for drug demand reduction in the country. To tackle the issue of substance use, this Department formulated and is implementing National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), a centrally sponsored scheme under which financial assistance is provided to:
