Secretary-General Deeply Saddened by Loss of Life in Türkiye Coal Mine Explosion

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General António Guterres:

The Secretary-General is deeply saddened by the loss of life caused by the explosion at a coal mine in Amasra, Türkiye.  He sends his condolences to the families of the victims as well as the Government and people of Türkiye.  He wishes a full recovery to those injured.
