Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra reaches rural Assam

Over 12,000 people participate in the Yatra organized in Baksa, Kokrajhar and Karbi Anglong

Yatra to cover over 2,660 Gram Panchayats over the next two months

To reach every corner of the nation, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra commenced across gram panchayats of Assam today, concurrent with its nationwide journey. In an effort to bring government schemes to the forefront and ensure 100% saturation of the schemes, 36 numbers of vans will travel across rural Assam over the next two months, ensuring benefits of government schemes reach every nook and corner of the State.

Alongwith the awareness on government schemes, on-the-spot services will be rolled out during the Yatra, addressing the immediate needs of the community. Health camps, TB screening, anemia screening, Ayushman card generation, PM Ujjwala new enrollment and updation, My BHARAT initiatives, and KCC enrollment services will also be available during the programme.

On the first day of the second phase of the Yatra, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Govt. of Assam, Shri Ranjeet Kumar Das along with District Commissioner, Bajali Shri. Mridul Das inaugurated the Yatra at Bajali. A Health Camp was set for free medical check up along with distribution of Ayushman Card to the Beneficiaries in the event.

Subsequently, Shri Sonamoni Haobam, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Shri Deba Kumar Misra, District Commissioner, Sonitpur flagged off the awareness van in Tezpur. Shri Pulak Kumar Mahanta, District Commissioner of Jorhat flagged off the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in the district.

To create mass awareness about various developmental schemes of the government the IEC vans today reached at Ujjalpur Gram Panchayat of Lakhimpur district. Subsequently a Health camp is also organized at Halapakuri of Barpeta district to foster community well-being. Similar programmes were also conducted in Nalbari ditrsict.

 



 

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is on a mission in Assam, as the van reached Majuli via ferry to empower communities with crucial information.

 



 

About the Yatra in Assam:  

On 15th November, on the occasion of the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was inaugurated in three tribal districts—Baksa, Kokrajhar, and Karbi Anglong of Assam. The Yatra till date has covered around 32 Gram Panchayats in which around 12,311 people participated. 429 people have been screened in health camps and Around 444 people screened for Tuberculosis at the Yatra sites.
